This room is located on the entrance floor of the Old Monastery and was used in the past as a woodshed and then as a lumber-room. Today it is the site of a small museum which houses period objects and tools of daily life from a bygone age, collected together and used to re-create working environments such as a carpentry shop and a blacksmith’s workshop.
The north wall of the room is entirely natural rock: it is one of many outcrops of Mount Pirchiriano that, throughout the complex, reminds us of its vital function as the principal support for the building.
